Kelly DeScioli was 27 years old and in her Intern year of her Pediatric Residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital when she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in June of 2006. She fought a courageous battle and returned to complete her residency and become faculty at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital. Kelly passed away in March of 2013, but not before inspiring many of those she contacted, including family, friends, colleagues, and patients. Please donate what you can to support Team Kelly and the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation to raise money for research so that this disease can be defeated once and for all!
The Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation was founded in 2002 in memory of Dr. Marnie Rose, a 28-year-old pediatric resident who passed away from what is considered one of the deadliest of human cancers, a glioblastoma (or GBM). The mission of the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation is to eradicate brain cancer through the funding of research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and to better the lives of the brave young patients at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital who were so dear to Marnie's heart.
